Do you want to drive and develop the outpatient and intermediate care for child and adolescent psychiatry in Helsingborg? We are now looking for a Senior Consultant Physician (Överläkare) or Specialist Physician (Specialistläkare) for the BUP clinic and one for BUP's intermediate care. Both units are located at Rönnowsgatan 10D in Helsingborg. You can easily reach us by bicycle, train, or car.

About the Department

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) is tasked with providing specialized psychiatric care for patients up to 18 years of age. In Northwest Scania, there are outpatient clinics in Helsingborg, Ängelholm, and Landskrona.

Our joint intermediate care includes care for children aged 6 to 18, a family department for ages 0 to 18, a smaller eating disorders team, and an infant care program for patients between 0 and 6 years. These services complement the interventions provided by the outpatient clinics. Inpatient care is located in Malmö.

Work Environment and Team

At BUP Intermediate Care in Helsingborg, we work during daytime hours, Monday to Friday, focusing on assessment and treatment. The work is primarily conducted in our facilities but can also take place in patients' homes or other locations, though this is exceptional for physicians. Digital solutions are well-established, and opportunities for remote work exist.

At the Intermediate Care unit, we have counselors, family therapists, psychologists, medical secretaries, nurses, physicians, resident doctors, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. In total, there are approximately 30 employees at BUP in Scania. For several years, we have been an accredited university healthcare unit, which means we have a close collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine at Lund University regarding both research and education. Academic work permeates our operations. We value interest and experience in research and education when appointing all our positions.

We collaborate with the municipalities in our catchment area to achieve the best possible care for our patients together with the patients and their relatives.

Responsibilities

In the role of Senior Consultant Physician or Specialist Physician, you will work with in-depth assessments, diagnostics, and treatment alongside a dedicated interdisciplinary team. The work group is characterized by great care and consideration for one another, and besides a drive for development, there is plenty of joy and humor. We offer ample scope for focusing on the individual patient, where you as the physician play a central role, with access to the broad range of treatments offered by your colleagues.

As a Senior Consultant or Specialist Physician, you have a crucial role in participating in various internal conferences and contributing to and promoting good, safe patient care in a broader sense. We also welcome your interest in engaging in the development of care and improving quality for the patient. You do this by contributing your medical expertise to the continuous improvement work that characterizes BUP Scania. There are good opportunities for further education and research based on your interests, aligned with the needs of the unit and the patient.

The position includes on-call duties in the combined child psychiatry on-call line in Region Scania, as well as supervision of ST-doctors and resident doctors.

Qualifications and Merits

You are a licensed physician with the right to practice in Swedish healthcare. You have specialist competence in child and adolescent psychiatry, adult psychiatry, and/or child and adolescent medicine. Proficiency in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement. You must have completed or planned a course in clinical supervision.

For the position of Senior Consultant Physician, you must also have:

• Full-time employment for at least three years (documented effective time).
• Clinical competence and independence within the obtained specialist competence.
• A defined medical area of responsibility and knowledge.
• Documented teaching and supervisory merits.

Work experience with children and adolescents with mental health issues is meritorious. If you have a PhD, we also view this as meritorious.

At a university healthcare unit, physicians are required to have pedagogical experience and education. This can be acquired through supervising, for example, nursing and medical students, as well as doctors in training, and as a co-supervisor or main supervisor for doctoral candidates. Clearly describe in your application any completed or planned pedagogical courses, experience with supervision, and teaching at different levels.
